While the stories are uplifting, the plots are too simplistic at times, the characters do not always have reasons or events that dictate the changes in them. But as the new kid in school, he has yet to learn the drill as those with more longevity already have. As the clouds of war gather on the horizon, all of Britain wonders and waits. Arnold faced off with the city over illegal liquor sales and flaunted his victory with a life-size statue of the mayor dressed as a hobo. Well written and relatable characters. I actually expected the book to be a more "Star Wars" type adventure with lots of shoot 'em stuff. I was originally buying this book as a birthday present for a friend. What I like best about the author is that she does not come off as someone who always has it all together, but rather someone who is very real.
