The writing is so descriptive and made me nervous when the the nameless ones and the bad guys were being described. When I saw the paperback I checked my library which holds all of Dale Brown's work and I did not find it, so I bought it. Running from these men that seem hell bent on finding him, he hides as best as he can. Page by page we discover how they’re interlinked, a technique that works and satisfyingly so (though there are a few loose ends, but it’s not the type of book to leave it all too conveniently tidy). He may be alive, but he is hollowed out and empty. For the Charles Todd/Inspector Rutledge fan, this is another winner.
